Recordings live in this browser's IndexedDB. Download a project first if you want to keep it.
Keep a copy of the open project on your own disk, written automatically after you stop
editing. It is the same .screvio file the Download button produces — video,
steps, edits and every language's voice-over in one — so clearing this browser's data, or
moving to another machine, costs you nothing.
This browser cannot write to a folder — the File System Access API is Chrome/Edge only. Use the Download button on the Clips tab instead.
Automatically outline whatever was clicked, like a product-tour highlight — no manual overlay needed. Same on/off switch as the one next to Zoom and Highlight on the video controls; either one changes both. Off by default, same as Highlight.
Optional: have the Script tab's "Copy for AI chat" / "Paste script" round-trip happen automatically instead of by hand. Off by default — no AI call of any kind happens unless this is on.
Runs entirely on your device via Chrome's built-in AI — no key, nothing leaves your browser. Needs Chrome 138+ on desktop, and enough free disk space for a one-time model download the first time it runs.
Kept only in this browser's local storage and sent directly from your browser to — there is no Screvio server in between. Treat it like any other saved credential: anyone with access to this browser profile could read it back out.
Two editions. Download for your browser and load it in developer mode.
Screvio Recorder — for people who make demos and guides. Records a session; this Studio edits and exports it.
Screvio Player — for everyone who only follows guides, customers included. Plays guides and asks for no recording permissions. Connect it with a customer token from Settings → Guides → Customers.
Chrome / Edge: unzip the download, open chrome://extensions
(or edge://extensions), turn on "Developer mode" (top right), then click
"Load unpacked" and select the unzipped folder.
Firefox: unzip the download, open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, click "Load Temporary Add-on…", and
select the manifest.json inside the unzipped folder. Firefox removes temporary
add-ons on restart — reload it there again next session.
What Studio would otherwise only print to the browser console — every step of an export, every voice clip, and every error — kept here instead, one log per day. Download the day something went wrong and attach it to a bug report. Stays on this machine; nothing is sent anywhere. Kept for 7 days, then discarded.
Worth a glance before you send one on: a log can name the project, its steps, and page titles or URLs from the recording. It never contains typed values or generated audio.
The script has changed since this was made — saving now saves the older reading.

Wording and order are edited in the Guides workspace, not here.
A project decides who can see a guide. Someone in the project sees every guide filed to it; everyone else gets nothing, not even the title. Guides in no project stay visible to everyone signed in, which is where every guide written before projects sits.
A customer has no Studio account. Their Screvio Player uses a token made here: it plays the published guides of one project and nothing else — it cannot publish, and it never sees another project or the guides filed to no project.

When a guide’s step can no longer find its element — a button renamed in a release — the extension can ask a model which control on the page is the same one. A healed step is never shown as certain. The model is sent the step’s wording and a list of the visible controls’ labels from the user’s page; it is never sent the page, and never what anyone typed. This key is kept on this server and never reaches a browser.
When nobody’s guide matches, the extension can email a picture of the tab here. Use your mail server and an app password, not the account login password. The picture can still show what is on screen.
Accounts that can sign in on this machine. A password you set here is a handover — they are asked to choose their own the first time they sign in.
These accounts live on the Screvio server, so anyone here can sign in from any machine on the network straight away. Nothing to copy, no file to place.
A person inherits everything from the default unless it is set for them here. Admins are not listed, and no lock applies to them.
Ticked items are turned off. Admins are never restricted, whatever is ticked.
Shown when someone clicks a crowned control. Say whatever is true for your setup — there is no billing in Screvio, so this is a message, not a purchase.
Off unless you turn it on. When it is on, each guide records how surely its steps found the element they point at — for the guide, never for the person: counts are added up as they arrive, so there is no record of any individual walk to look at afterwards. It is how you find out that step 3 has stopped working before anyone reports it.
Studio runs entirely in this browser, so this is a supervisor control, not a security boundary: it stops ordinary use of a feature, and someone who knows their way around browser developer tools can work past it. Clearing this browser's data resets accounts and locks together.

Who can see this guide. A guide in no project is visible to everyone signed in. Module is where it is filed; project is who may read it.
Related guides are chosen, never guessed — a wrong relation is worse than none. When this guide is offered is set per section, not here.
